Swing: One of the most popular and easy to learn dances, Swing uses triple steps and rock steps to shake it up on the dance floor. Swing has probably the most variations of any dance style associated with it. Lindy, Jitterbug, Balboa, Shag, Charleston, EC swing, WC swing, Rock n Roll and Jive are all offshoots of the same dance style. Swing really made it big in 1935 when Benny Goodman played a version of "Stompin at the Savoy", and the swing craze began. |
